Chef Mike DeCamp

Aka ‘Young Chef’

It all started when…

Chef DeCamp was growing up in Minnesota. When he was just 17 he began working for Chef Tim McKee at D’Amico Cucina. Here he was given the nickname, “Young Chef,” one that still remains with him. Shortly following, he worked for many highly-regarded restaurants including Campiello, Chez Foley, and La Belle Vie.

In 2002, he was given the opportunity to work at the acclaimed NoMi in Chicago. During his time there, Chef DeCamp added to his skills and experience by volunteering in several of the city’s top restaurants including Tru and Charlie Trotters. In 2005, Chef DeCamp returned to the Twin Cities and rejoined Chef McKee at La Belle Vie where he remained until joining the Jester Concepts team in 2015 to open and lead Monello and Constantine.

Today, he also heads the kitchen at Borough and Parlour in both Minneapolis and St. Paul and has been recognized with a number of accolades and praise for his contemporary American cuisine. Most recently, in early 2019 he opened P.S. Steak, located in the former La Belle Vie space. DeCamp loves to cook without boundaries and is constantly inspired by ingredients and his travels.
